Why send a gift basket?

We returned last week from the Fancy Foods Specialty Show in San Diego. What you are looking at is what I consider "art"...you may consider it a junky photo. Either way, it is a photo of downtown San Diego at dusk. What an incredible assortment of food. We met with many wonderful distributors and suppliers and we will start featuring some of their products on the website, www.shopthegiftbasketstore.com. Click here for a view: www.shopthegiftbasketstore.com for a large selection of gifts and gift baskets.

In the meantime, here's some thoughts on why you should send a gift or gift basket, and the many different occasions where one of our goodies might come in handy:

Don’t just give a gift, give a memory!

Gift baskets area personal way to express feelings of happiness or grief, or to say: Happy Birthday, Get Well, Happy Anniversary or Congratulations on Your Promotion!. They can be sent to celebrate special occasions like the birth of a baby, a new dog or cat, to say I’m sorry, or just to say I’m thinking of you.

And of course, who doesn’t like to receive a gift on holidays: Christmas, New Years, Valentines Day, Easter, Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Halloween, Administrative Assistant Day. And finally, don’t forget that it is a great way for a realtor to say Welcome To Your New Home, or to say job well done to the employees back in the office, or even used as a corporate recognition award. Either way you choose, you can’t go wrong. Because you’re not just giving a gift, you’re giving a memory!

• Don’t just send a gift, send a memory: Suddenly out of the blue you remember that the birthday of someone, perhaps even in your past, is coming up. Wouldn’t it be great if you could send a big surprise to let them you know you care and are thinking of them?

• Don’t just send your congratulations, send a memory: What better way to say congratulations on your new baby to the happy parents or even the happier grand parents? During this hectic time, a gift basket will adorn the new baby’s home and be a wonderful reminder (especially at 3:00am) that people do care.

• Don’t just give a gift, give a piece of your heart: This is your opportunity to express your feelings to someone special, especially when you can’t be there in person. This is especially true if when it is send to someone in the hospital or recuperating from an illness at home. A gift basket will brighten up the day of any one who receives it. Why not send a smile to someone you care about? It will put a smile on your face too.

• Don’t just give a gift, give a memory: Would you like to send congratulations to the new home owners? Or, are you a real estate agent that needs to send a gift to your clients after they move into their first home? What better way to say “Welcome Home” that with a basket full of best wishes.

• Don’t just send a gift, send your love: To that college student who is away from home for the first time, it will be a nice and personal reminder that the folks back home really do remember them (even though you are cleaning out their room!)

• Don’t just send a gift, send your thoughts and prayers: Sometimes it is hard to say just the right thing to someone who has lost a loved one, or even a pet. A gift basket can express your sympathy and condolences. It will be a gentle reminder for weeks to come that they are not alone, and that people do care.

• Don’t just say thank you, say THANK YOU! What a great way to send your gratitude. No matter what, it’s always nice to let someone know that you appreciate what they have done for you. Sending a gift basket will remind them that doing a good deed is the right thing to do, just like the movie Pay It Forward

• Don’t just give a gift, give a memory: For any number of reasons: birthday, a contest, job well done, or to say you are sorry, sending a gift basket full of savory snacks, gourmet foods, or a number of different spa treatments or trinkets will achieve the end result of making someone happy. Isn’t that what counts?

• Don’t just give a gift, make a memory: There are many special holidays throughout the year where your recognition of someone would be greatly appreciated: Bosses Day, Administrative Professionals Day, Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Grandparents Day, Valentine’s Day, Chinese New Year, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, Mardi Gras, Armed Forces Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, High School Graduation, College Graduation, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving, National Boss Day, Off To College Gift, Halloween, Veterans Day, Election Day, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Christmas and even Boxing Day (isn't that the day we throw out all of the holiday wrapping and boxes?)
