When both of my girls were born I was ready to get rid of that extra bulge I was carrying around in my belly. The belly does shrink in time and with a little targeted effort you can lose that baby belly quickly.

1. Breastfeeding: The hormones that are released during breastfeeding assist in shrinking the uterus.

2. General exercise - try to fit some activity in your day. Take your baby for a walk. While you are sitting at home of work: suck in your belly button toward your back, holding it in for a few seconds, this will help tone the belly and you can do it anywhere.

3. Cardio- ride an exercise bike, job in place, walk faster. These activities will get your heart pumping and will help you burn calories.

4. Good diet. If you stop losing weight and are no longer losing belly fat then you may need to change your diet. You have to burn more calories than you take in to lose baby belly fat that is covering the muscles. Try low calories snacks; avoid fried foods and caffeinated drinks.

5. Monounsaturated fatty acids- these help reduce the amount of belly fat. Eat some before a meal and it will help reduce the amount of fat that goes to your belly. These include: sunflower seeds, avocados and Flaxseed oil pills.
